Held as a prisoner and hostage for more than four years in a motel in Orange County New York, 86 year old Marine Corps Veteran David McClellan was finally rescued by the police last July 19, 2016.
According to authorities, 35 year old Perry Cogliano held McClellan captive for more than four years in a shabby motel room while he occupied the room next door. The room where the police rescued McClellan was full of stacked furniture as well as smashed flower pots.
In the four years that Cogliano held McClellan captive, Cogliano stole McClellan’s food stamps, social security, and pension checks. McClellan was also never clothe or bathe and was even subjected to beatings.
When interviewed by the ABC 7 News, Highland Police Department Chief Jack Quinn said “We believe [McClellan] is the recipient of a tremendous amount of money on a monthly basis.”
